Coming across Kora was like the universe was telling me that it was time to heal. From Koras inspirational posts and advice on gut health, I had to know more about why it was super important….I started having abdominal pain in middle school. Then it went to getting my period and having the feeling of knives come at me every month. I barely made it to school and I was always calling my mom to come get me. In high school, it continued and I began to never want to leave my bed. I felt super unmotivated and sick of going to the doctors with no diagnosis. I was getting blood tests, ultrasounds, x-rays, cat scans, you name it! I felt like I was spending endless amounts of money for nothing. I also suffered from an eating disorder and other mental health issues. This summer when I began with Kora, we broke down what needed to be settled first and it’s only been four months and I’ve seen the most change in my health and wellbeing then I have in 8 years! Kora is a huge role model and always positive in what she says. I know I would 100% trust her with her kind spirit! I was scared to start this journey because I was scared of a huge diagnosis and scared that I wasn’t going to like the change but coaching has seriously changed my life for the better! Any small change is huge and can impact you in ways that you can’t imagine.

After being on and off elimination diets for the past 10 years, I didn’t realize how ingrained certain beliefs I had about food were in my daily eating habits. By working with Kora, I was able to become more aware of how these beliefs were affecting my body’s response to eating foods I had deemed “unhealthy” or “bad” for me. I was able to start to challenge some of those internalized thoughts and work toward a more holistic view of food. Before working with Kora, I was stuck in a cycle of feeling guilt and shame around my eating habits and digestive problems. While overcoming this is a long learning process, I’ve been able to cultivate a better ability to react more kindly toward my choices and my body’s reactions. I’m beginning to trust my body more and better understand its signals. It was helpful to have support with learning a new mindset around food, particularly when the lessons brought up painful memories and feelings from the past. Kora was able to identify patterns in my thinking and provide solutions and support to developing positive habits. Kora is great at guiding through the ups and downs of the process. Because she has experienced these issues herself, she is relatable and understands the daily challenges that come with digestive issues and unlearning messages of diet culture. She is very responsive on the messaging app and provides detailed answers and overviews. Our check ins every other week provided me an opportunity to get clarification and validation on why certain feelings were coming up as well as develop process oriented goals to focus on.
